Perfect pitch, also called “absolute pitch,” is the ability to accurately identify a tone without relying on a reference. That in itself sounds handy enough, but just what are the benefits of perfect pitch for musicians?
Having perfect pitch will allow you to identify not just single notes, but multiple simultaneous notes as well. Thus, musicians with perfect pitch know immediately what chords they’re hearing.
If you have perfect pitch, you can even identify the key of a given piece of music.If you have aural skills training, you can hear notes in your mind as you read them on the sheet, which is particularly helpful to singers. Also, people with perfect pitch can even identify the tones coming from everyday objects, like car horns or telephones, or speaking voices.
Ear training will also improve your composition abilities, as it gives you the tools to translate the musical ideas in your head to your guitar and voice. You’ll also find you have a better sense for what’s going on in the songs you hear and the tendencies of your favourite songwriters and guitarists.
Learning Relative Pitch may not be a guarantee of musical talent, but it certainly takes care of a lot of the legwork involved, the tasks associated with listening and allowing musicians to focus on making music. For those who have it, it’s essential.

I have recently been thinking about selling my house and as with a lot of things like this have been trying to work out what the best path to make the house look good before we either sell our house or stay in it for a bit longer. I began by looking at different rooms in the house and considering what I might do to better them and remove any issues I might have had about them.
Central to my house is the kitchen so I began by considering the kitchen layout, our kitchen is a fitted kitchen which works quite well with a reasonable work triangle (luckily I spoke to a local kitchen business about kitchen planning ahead of buying). The floor had problems with just lino layed which had got a little ripped up as I had shoved washing machines and fridges about in it. I got some tiling advice from a local company to get the floor tiles that would blend in with the kitchen units without making the room appear to dark (just some of the small things you have to think about when you want to sell your house, first impressions need to be just right within the short window people have to look at you house).
The next room I wanted to make sure was up to scratch was the bathroom, my bathroom layout was a little cramped due to some fitted cupboards which when taken out gave me lots more space (which if you are going on first impressions could help sell my house). Once again I popped down to the local tiler for some good tiling advice and went for larger light tiles which appeared to open the space in the bathroom, just one of the many things to be considering when purchasing bathroom tiles.
I then went through the house and painted with a neutral light colour which seemed to draw the rooms out and gave the whole house a new look. I then stripped out as much clutter as I could and boxed everything that wasn’t necessary away in the garage. Finished result, a house that I wanted to stay in, but after just one or two viewings brought to me from an online property site I have got some serious interest, so heres hoping ill be able to sell my house soon.

But skiing is only a small part of all that Steamboat has to offer. It has some great trails, devoted to snowmobiling, where you’ll have breathtaking views that let you take advantage of when you need a respite from the ski slopes. And if you’re one of the more adventurous souls, there’s always dog sledding – probably one of the few places you’ll ever get to enjoy this past time outside of Alaska.
